The façade
Façade with 3 registers, with restrained ornamentation, and a gable with inverted consoles in the Baroque style. Decorative program with speaking signboard and two bas-reliefs illustrating the work of arms manufacture, inspired by 17th century originals.
History and restorations
Reconstruction after 1695 of a house with a wooden façade, attributed to Pieter Van Dievoet. Restoration in 1879 and in 1916-1923; most recent restoration by the City completed in 2016.
Did you know
This was the last house to be restored during the major campaign of the 19th century. Due to the First World War, the work was not completed until 1923, when 70 years of effort were finally brought to a close.
