The façade

Narrow and highly restrained façade, finished with a gable in the baroque style. On the main façade, decorative program limited to 4 cartouches bearing the name of the house and its year of construction. Small bas-relief of a kite on the side façade.

History and restorations

Reconstruction in 1710 (Architect Gillis Vanden Eynde). Façade completely reconstructed in 1897; most recent restoration by the City completed in 2012.

Did you know

The house has previously been called “The Purse”, “The Golden Purse”,” The Tree” and “The Flying Stag”.
